Why we chose to move to Maple Court Retirement

For sisters Rozann and Audrey, the decision to move to Maple Court Retirement was guided by family. With loved ones living nearby who could visit and support them when needed, Maple Court offered comfort, reassurance, and closeness that felt just right.

A smooth and welcoming transition

Their transition was smooth and reassuring. One pleasant surprise was how similar their new suite felt to their previous living arrangement, helping them settle in quickly and feel at home from the very beginning.

The people make this home

They treasure the simple joy of being around people—seeing familiar faces, sharing conversations, and watching the activity and connection that fill the dining room at mealtimes. These everyday moments bring warmth, comfort, and a strong sense of community.

Activities we enjoy and staying connected

Faith plays an important role in their lives. They appreciate the Prayer Group and church services, which reflect their strong Christian values and provide spiritual connection and peace. They also enjoy watching and playing Jeopardy together, bringing fun and friendly challenge to their days.

Advice for someone considering retirement living

Their advice is honest and heartfelt: leaving home can be difficult, but when living alone becomes challenging, retirement living can be a beautiful next step. With meals prepared, support available, and care close at hand, life becomes easier and far more secure.

A lifetime of stories to share

Rozann and Audrey treasure memories of family visits to Florida and Detroit, summers filled with travel, and special traditions like homemade pies and shared meals. Audrey once knitted sweaters for loved ones and was known in the family for making perfect bacon. They have also shared a lifelong love of animals, especially their cherished poodles and cats.

The meaningful work and connections that shaped our lives

The most meaningful parts of my life were getting married and having my children. Watching them grow up was the greatest joy I’ve ever had. I also enjoyed my trip to Europe. It was unforgettable, but nothing compares to the memories of raising my kids and being with my family.

My children inspire me, especially my daughter Christine. She takes such good care of me while still managing her own life and responsibilities. I’m proud of all my kids, and they give me a reason to keep going and stay positive.

Who inspires us now

At this stage in life, their inspiration is rooted in faith, gratitude, and living each day as fully as possible. Growing older has brought deeper peace, reflection, and appreciation for a life well lived.

I’ve rediscovered how good it feels to connect with people. I enjoy being around others, talking, laughing, and listening to their stories. I’ve met a lot of good people here, and that means more than anything.

Rediscovering friendship and connection

Since moving to Maple Court, they have rediscovered a stronger relationship with their sister and brother-in-law. Seeing them often and sharing regular time together has brought renewed joy and connection they deeply value.

How life has changed for the better

Living at Maple Court has lifted daily burdens and brought peace of mind. Surrounded by care, comfort, and companionship, they feel content and secure. As they like to say, “We are like teenagers—we have no worries.” Without hesitation, they wholeheartedly recommend Maple Court Retirement to others.
